Subject: [LACountyCouncil] Philip Koebel for Congress: For Calendar: Alhambra
Town Meeting on Sep. 28, 2004

For Immediate Release:

September 26, 2004

Pasadena - Philip Koebel for US Congress is hosting a
town meeting in Alhambra, one of the cities in the
29th Congressional District. The town meeting will
happen at the Diner on Main Street, 201 W. Main
Street, beginning at 7 pm on Tuesday, September 28th.
Alhambra voters are invited to meet the candidate and
discuss the upcoming ballot measures.

This is the fourth in a series of Tuesday night
meetings hosted by the candidate to educate voters to
make an informed decision on November 2, 2004.
Meetings have already been held in San Gabriel/Temple
City, South Pasadena, and Altadena. Next week, on
October 5th, Mr. Koebel will meet voters in Burbank;
on the 12th in Pasadena; and on the 19th in Glendale.

Philip Koebel is running to support democracy,
education, and families and the patriotic peace
pledge. In his four years in Congress, Mr. Koebel's
opponent, Representative Adam Schiff has co-authored
the U.S.A.P.A.T.R.I.O.T. act and voted for every
military expansion proposed by the Bush regime. Last
week, Rep. Schiff voted to extend the two largest tax
cuts in U.S. history, which will drive the U.S.
further into debt and threatens the economic and
physical safety of every American.

Locally, Mr. Koebel's "def29" agenda - free democracy,
equal schools, and fair rent for families - is
designed to bring federal attention to the needs of
families in all local communities of the 29th
district. Mr. Koebel's patriotic peace pledge is to
repeal the U.S.A.P.A.T.R.I.O.T. act and to greatly
reduce the U.S. military budget and vote against
invasions of foreign nations. In addition, Mr. Koebel
is campaigning in support of Propostion 66 to amend
California's 3-strikes law.

The 29th district includes the communities of
Alhambra, Altadena (and other unincorporated areas of
L.A. County), Burbank, Glendale, Griffith Park (City
of L.A.), Monterey Park, Pasadena, San Gabriel, South
Pasadena, and Temple City. More info about Philip
Koebel's campaign can be found at www.PhilipKoebel.com
