Please forward this
announcement from Steve and Virginia Pearcy about
Saturday's anti-war rally
to anyone that might be interested.

Thanks
Dan Bacher

Hello
everyone:

Please join us for a major Anti-War rally at 16th &
Broadway this Saturday,
October 15th, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

As the
situation in Iraq worsens, the Bush administration has continued
its
arrogant, business-as-usual approach. The most powerful means we have
to
apply pressure on the administration is to peaceably assemble in
large
numbers and let our objections be heard in public and reported by the
media.

There are several reasons why we encourage you to come to this
particular
rally:

First, this rally will be advertised more widely
than our others, so we
expect very strong attendance; tacking your attendance
upon an
already-strong base will help create the kind of powerful and
energetic
atmosphere that's necessary to draw our community's attention to
the issues
we raise.

Second, we're running out of good weather and
evening daylight, so we need
to take advantage of what's left of the
season.

Third, we'll start at 5pm instead of 6pm, which will allow more
potential
media coverage for the 6pm news (and we will send press
releases).

Fourth, the timing of this rally will offer a forum to convey
your thoughts
(with signs and media) about issues on the ballot in
November.

Fifth, this rally will involve many anti-war displays and art,
and we've
invited some great percussion instrumentalists; so it will be
especially fun
and exciting.

Please forward this to others, and bring
your friends, banners, signs, art,
instruments, whatever, to 16th &
Broadway on Saturday. Let's show strength
in numbers, and let's show the
media that our numbers are growing and that
they'd better start paying
attention!

Contacts: Stephen Pearcy, Virginia Pearcy
Email: <A
