i did gather some signatures for him, but agree with what you said, you need build up to something like that, but found also true, that many would not sign for him or marin green party council candidates, because they did not know them , or of them, of course you can't know everyone running, we need connect more people we expect to sign our candidacy papers, long before we decided to run, know thats hard because its hard to find time, and talking to overly committed already, and i could of gotten enough greens sign my papers, if i started earlier enough, so I'm a lot in fault in that

it looks i wont marin green party council ballot in june, but seems we have enough candidates to have a contested race, so are constituents will get chance to vote for us, which was my main concern for that race, I will remain region rep. for next year and haft, much like mike w. was, after he left the council too, and still try to stay involved with them, as well the rest of northbay region , how many are place holders and actually want to be on council i don't know, so i may end back on anyway, much like are 1 loosing incumbent in 2006

Hello all,

FYI: Karl Schroeder Jr., who was trying to qualify for the Primary for Congress District 6, was not able to garner enough signatures. He shared in a phone message to me that he did not get enough help from the Green Party and that he will not be involved with us any longer. He did say he understands that he decided to run quite late in the game, but also that The Green Party needs to "get our act together and find some rich benefactors". He's got a great point there, but didn't seem to grasp the fact that that we have a process for endorsing and supporting candidates and that it takes time. One should never consider running for office 1 month before the filing deadline and then expect everyone to start writing checks without any knowledge about the candidate. It doesnt quite work that way!

Also, I have sent an email to Alex Walker who had also indicated he didn't think he qualilfied and have not heard back.
I will be touching base next week with all of our candidates to find out their status and to run our survey past them.
(once we refine it).

Thanks!

Kendra

JaneRands has qualified for the 72nd Assembly District. To the best of myknowledge she is the only Green Party candidate in Orange County.
