[officeholders] ANNOUNCE: Application period for election to GPCA Coordinating Committee and GPUS Delegation

Dear Friend -- 


This is to announce the application period for election to the GPCA Coordinating Committee <http://www.cagreens.org/committees/coordinating> and GPUS Delegation <http://www.cagreens.org/delegation>, for staggered, two year terms <http://www.cagreens.org/bylaws/2013-03-23#Section_8-2_Membership> running from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2018.  

Elections will be held separately by ranked choice voting for six female seats <http://sga.cagreens.org/vote/irvdetail?pid=88> and six male seats <http://sga.cagreens.org/vote/irvdetail?pid=89> on the Coordinating Committee, and 12 delegate seats <http://sga.cagreens.org/vote/irvdetail?pid=86> and 13 alternate seats <http://sga.cagreens.org/vote/irvdetail?pid=87> on the GPUS Delegation.

The application deadline is Monday, May 2 at 6pm. Please <>send applications here <mailto:applications at cagreens.org>. The discussion period is from Monday, May 9 through Sunday, June 19. Voting from Monday, June 20 through Sunday, June 26. Candidates shall be given time to present themselves to the San Francisco General Assembly  <http://www.cagreens.org/ga/2016-05>May 14-15.

References: According to GPCA Bylaws 8-2.1, "The Coordinating Committee shall be composed of up to 24 voting members, with 12 men and 12 women. Six men and six women shall be elected each year to serve staggered, two year terms" (www.cagreens.org/bylaws/2013-03-23#Section_8-2_Membership <http://www.cagreens.org/bylaws/2013-03-23#Section_8-2_Membership> ) and 8-4.1 "Elections shall be conducted each year by the Standing Green Assembly using Ranked Choice Voting with a No Other Candidate option, with the six week discussion period beginning on the first Monday of May and the one week voting period commencing immediately thereafter."
