<div>This is to announce special elections to fill four vacated GPCA
state Coordinating Committee seats -- one female and three male
-- to fill the remainder of two-year Coordinating Committee terms
running from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017.<br><br>The
application deadline is Sunday, March 6 at 6pm. Applications must
include a biography and what applicants wish to accomplish on the
Coordinating Committee. Please<a> </a><a

<div>The Coordinating Committee elections will be conducted by the
GPCA <a

General Assembly</a> (SGA). The discussion period runs from Monday,
March 7 through Sunday, April 17, and the voting between Monday, April
18 through Sunday, April 24. <br><br>The regular annual Coordinating
Committee elections follow, where six female and six male seats are <a
href="https://cagreens.nationbuilder.com/r?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cagreens.org%2Fbylaws%2F2013-03-23%23Section_8-2_Membership&e=80c15b865fff992a92bc2bd989d93f8c&utm_source=cagreens&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=vacan_cc_16_02&n=7&test_email=1">elected
each year to serve staggered, two year terms</a>. The application
deadline is Monday, May 2. Please<a> </a><a

through Sunday, June 19, and voting from Monday, June 20 through
Sunday, June 26. Candidates shall be given time to present themselves

<p><strong>References:</strong> According to GPCA Bylaws 8-2.1, "The
Coordinating Committee shall be composed of up to 24 voting members,
with 12 men and 12 women. Six men and six women shall be elected each
year to serve staggered, two year terms" (<a
href="https://cagreens.nationbuilder.com/r?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cagreens.org%2Fbylaws%2F2013-03-23%23Section_8-2_Membership&e=80c15b865fff992a92bc2bd989d93f8c&utm_source=cagreens&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=vacan_cc_16_02&n=10&test_email=1">www.cagreens.org/bylaws/2013-03-23#Section_8-2_Membership</a> ) and
8-4.1 "Elections shall be conducted each year by the Standing Green
Assembly using Ranked Choice Voting with a No Other Candidate option,
with the six week discussion period beginning on the first Monday of
May and the one week voting period commencing immediately
thereafter." <br><br>Furthermore <a
href="https://cagreens.nationbuilder.com/r?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cagreens.org%2Fbylaws%2F2013-06-23%23Section_8-4_Elections&e=80c15b865fff992a92bc2bd989d93f8c&utm_source=cagreens&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=vacan_cc_16_02&n=11&test_email=1">8-4.5</a> speaks
about filling vacancies and states "Upon a mid-term vacancy occurring
on the Coordinating Committee (but not a vacancy occurring as a result
of any seats not being filled during an annual regular election), the
Coordinating Committee shall publish a Notice of Vacancy and Call for
Candidate Submissions to the active County Organizations, for
candidates seeking to fill the remainder of the vacated term. The
Notice shall contain the timing of the submission, discussion and
election process, and the time remaining in the term for which a
vacancy has occurred. The Notice shall be published within two days of
the vacancy occurring. The submission deadline shall be 21 days from
the publishing of the Notice. The discussion period shall begin on the
first Monday after the close of the submission period. </p>
