Dear Tian,
I just visited your web site. You've got good issues. I just have a
couple of, shall we say, show business suggestions.
(1) You may have to spring for a few bucks to get a professional
photographer to take a suitable campaign photo with the appropriate
"costume" to play the "role" of a candidate for the United States
Senate, that is, dark business suit and necktie. Even more important
than the costume is that you can't see your face very well in the
picture.
Tian, one of your assets as a candidate is that you have a friendly
face. You look like a guy people can trust (unlike me, who makes
people lock their car door -- Click! -- if I walk by on the sidewalk
while they're stopped for a red light). Unfortunately, in that picture
on the web site you look like Satan lurking in the Garden of Eden.
(2) The thing with the coins takes up too much space on the page.
(3) You've got good issues. However, I was surpirsed that you are
kind of weak on the Iraq War. You do not actually say "Bring Our Boys
Home A.S.A.P." Your statement is too vague. Please don't get me
wrong! It would be a mistake to come on too radical too early, but
polls say the war is the #1 issue for Congress this year and you gotta
be at least two steps to the Left of Diane Feinstein.
I know this sounds like nitpicking, but at this early stage, even most
Greens do not know who you are. They will hear that you've announced
and if they are web-savvy the first thing they'll do is check out your
web site. It's like a first date. You gotta give 'em a good first
impression.
