[Sosfbay-discuss] Call for Volunteers to be Plenary Delegates and Alternates Riverside Co Sept 8-9

At last Thursday's GPSCC general membership/business meeting,  we discussed 
the need for delegates and alternates for the state meeting  scheduled for 
September 8-9th in Riverside County.  The GPSCC is alloted  four delegates.  An 
actual person has to be present at the time to cast a  vote.  Drew Johnson, Jim 
Stauffer and Warner Bloomberg provisionally  volunteered to be delegates, with 
agreement to become alternates if others would  volunteer -- particularly to 
have a gender balanced GPSCC  delegation.   Delegates and alternates are 
expected to meet to discuss 
the agenda packet when it is published.  Registration  fees are expected to 
be 
$45-$55, and delegates also may have to arrange for lodging at  a hotel or 
motel.  The registration deadline usually is the week before the  plenary, 
although onsite registration is common.  But...  the  plenary credentials 
committee needs to receive a confirmation of the delegates  and alternates list 
from a County Council member.  And folks going to the  state meeting need to 
know who they are both for registration and to arrange car  pools.  So...
If you are willing to volunteer to be a delegate or alternate,  please 
announce your availability on this email list.  Our next GPSCC  meeting is Thursday, 
September 6th -- right before the plenary!!!   Warner
