MAKE YOUR MARK ON THE GREEN PARTY OF THE U.S.!! JOIN A NATIONAL COMMITTEE!!

Please forward this announcement as appropriate!

The Green Party of California (GPCA) is recruiting California Greens to
participate in the party-building work to be done at the GP-US national
level. The only requirements are that you're a California Green, willing
and able to commit to the position, and can work well with others....well,
ok, and have regular access to email and willingness to participate in
teleconferences, usually monthly.

Non-voting Observers (who are asked to mostly refrain from posting) may
join committees without prior appointment, just contact the committee
chairs directly and notify sanda at greens.org.

The positions of voting Members are by appointment; All appointed Member
positions are for two-year terms and are renewable. Because women and
historically marginalized communities, including people of color and the
disabled, are underrepresented at the national level, we are strongly
encouraging people from those groups to apply.

Most standing national committees have open Members seats for California
Greens: CA list of membership in GP-US committees can be found at
http://www.votegreen.org/gpus-ca/about/committees with links to each of
the national committees. A GP-US list of all the committees can be found
at http://www.gp.org/committees.shtml
Note that we are going through webmaster transition so webpage may not be
totally up to date. The only committees that has no openings for Members
(but has room for any number of Observers as do all committees) currently
is Media.

RECRUITING WILL BE ONGOING UNTIL THESE POSITIONS ARE FILLED. A short
2-paragraph biography of your past party (or related) experience and why
you're interested in the position is required for all applicants to be
considered.

One or two references are appreciated, especially for newer Greens, if we
are not familiar with your work. Local or state party experience is
desired, but not required. Please send it to sanda at greens.org.

Committee voting Member positions may be appointed by the GP-US/GPCA
Standing Delegation at their next monthly teleconference or at the next
plenary meeting, whichever comes first. The standing delegation increased
to 42 members on July 4, 2007. More delegates have applied and will be
elected at the fall plenary and we will be taking applications for
additional delegates or alternates 60 days before the spring plenary. We
are getting ready for the exciting work of a presidential election year.

For further information or questions, you can contact me, at
sanda at greens.org. Thank you for considering increasing your participation
in our party!

Sanda Everette
co-chair, CA delegation

social or emotional intelligence that is unfortunately rare in America,
