Minutes of Thursday December 6, 2007

As a result of an additional topic – proceeds from “Mayfield” event -

A discussion of how imperative it is to do fundraising and recruitment.
It was suggested/requested to form a team of fundraising events planners
Barec. The residents of Santa Clara will vote on a referendum on
February 5, 2008.
Measure A is with respect to the General Plan. Measure B is a local
ordinance. Consensus reached to endorse NO votes on both measures.
Warner has a press release and is authorized to speak our behalf.
Funds for a mailer for the February referendum are not available.
Jim D to obtain pricing and frequency of availability of voter databases
from the ROV.
Three persons submitted their forms to be a county delegate to the
presidential nominating convention in July. The deadline was only one
day away. 8 delegates were allotted to Santa Clara County Greens.
Santa Clara County has 4 votes on each of measures 91, 92, and 93.
Consensus reached to place 4 No votes on 91; 3 Yes and 1 No on 92; and
1 Yes, 2 Nos, and 1 abstain on 93. Warner and Drew tasked to report the
results to GPCA.
The filing deadlines and ROV requirements for county council candidates
to be placed
on the ballot in June were discussed.
A social coupled with a fundraiser for Jared Ball will be held on Sunday
December 16-th
from 5 pm to 9 pm at the Smoke Tiki Lounge in San Jose. $20 to cover
food expenses.
$10 for students. Should attendance not reach the minimum, Meriam will
cover the difference. Several attendees volunteered to “get the word out.”
Jim D is to incorporate the editing suggestions for the By-laws re
selection of a regional
representative and alternate regional representatives. As well as post
to discussion lists.
Jim S to add Cameron to the state contacts list.
Consensus was reached to split the proceeds of the “Mayfield” event. $50
to the county,
$53 to the organizers.
Cameron will add a link to the Silicon Valley Impeachment Coalition’s
web site.
