Gerry and Merriam heard through the grapevine a few
months ago that there was a bicycling community that
was riding across America fostering community
conversations about how we might create "a nationwide
network of communities dedicated to living sustainably
in a manner that removes the justification from war."

Bob, Merriam, Tian and I all got a chance to actually
go out and bicycle with the group and several of us
also went to participate in their community discussion
they held in downtown San Jose.

We were so enthusiastic about it that we consenses at
the GPSCC General Meeting that we sponsor the trip by
bundling our contributions together of at least $100
(which a number of us, including I contributed to).
Time has arrived to cut the check so please if send
all your contributions to Cameron and he'll send it
out.

I called up Vernon last Saturday and got to hear about
the journey so far. They're well and making their way
across TX now with the potential goal of spending some
time in Crawford, before continuing on to the East
Coast, arriving in DC on Sat 22 Sept (World Car Free
Day).

On this page you can see the links to the rider's
blogs and lots more about the trip:
