[Sosfbay-discuss] Is this diatribe a press advisory?

I'm kind of new to this, especially under time pressure.

Demonstrators will picket an appearance by Secretary of State
Condoleeza Rice in Menlo Park on Thursday afternoon. Ms.
Rice will visit the Center for a New Generation at the James
Flood school.

Condi lied to the 9/11 widows when she characterized the
famous "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S." memo as
"historical information" that "did not warn of attacks inside
the United States." (1) This testimony was given under
oath before the 9/11 Commission on April 8, 2004.

A glance at the memo (also known as the August 6
Presidential Daily Briefing, or P.D.B.) shows that it warns of
"patterns of suspicious activity in this country [since 1998]
consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of
attacks, including recent surveillance of federal buildings
in New York" and warns also of "a call to our embassy in
the UAE in May saying that a group or bin Laden supporters
was in the U.S. planning attacks with explosives." (2)

The facsimile of the document itself is also interesting. At
the bottom of both pages is a redacted section in the middle
of the page. (3) What's secret about a page number? And
why is the redaction so long? If an article in the respected
German weekly newspaper Die Zeit is correct, what's been
redacted might be "Page 1 of 12," and the person who flew
to Crawford to brief the President on the memo was George
Tenet, then head of the CIA, (4) a man described by
Counterterrorism coordinator Richard Clarke as one
"running around with his hair on fire" at the time.

The President's response to this information, Ron Susskind's
2006 book "The One Percent Doctrine" tells us, was to say
"All right. You've covered your ass, now." (5)

Condi's utter failure as National Security Advisor to prevent
the 9/11 attacks, demonstrators say, in no way qualified her
to be Secretary of State. For lying under oath to the widows,
to the nation, and to the world, she should be impeached.
