That's about what happened in 1991, when Kent Smith and Mindy Lorentz 
realized
the Democrats weren't going to take a progressive stand on the Gulf War. 
They walked
out of the Statewide meeting en masse and started looking for an 
alternative. It so happened
that some poor fools were trying to get the Green Party on the ballot, 
and had collected
about a hundred signatures. They joined the effort, and some among them 
are still the
backbone of our party. Mike Feinstein and Greg Jan are talented, but the 
help really
was needed.

I wouldn't mind an influx of Dems, but I'm not holding my breath for 
it... If all that
does is shake loose a few voters, no harm done. If it gets us the next 
Jo Chamberlain
or something like that, political earthquakes are in our future!
