Here is an interesting perspective by my neighbor, Alfredo Kuba, on the
Nobel Prize awarded to Al Gore:

*Giving Al Gore a Noble Prize for "Environmental Awareness" is like giving
George W. Bush a Noble Prize for "Peace".*

Consider Al Gore's family background, raising Angus cows for "food".
According to the U.N. panel of scientists on climate change " raising
animals for human consumption causes more environmental destruction, killing
of wildlife, deforestation, water and air pollution, and procure 40% more
green house gases than all cars, trucks, trains, ships and industrial
emissions combined world wide". These is the same panel who awarded Al Gore
the Nobel Prize for "environmental awareness"?

Al Gore, the U.N. and the entire corporate world is in denial. Green house
gases from animals raised for food, methane are 27 times more powerful than
CO2's. Adopting a vegetarian lifestyle would have an immediate impact on the
earth's climate, human health, habitats, wildlife, etc.

Human's gluttonous appetites for the flesh and blood of other living beings
is destroying all life on earth. Human's behavior can only be depicted as a
parasitic species!

LIVING GRAVES
"We are the living graves of murdered beasts
slaughtered to satisfy our appetites
we never pause to wonder at our feasts
if animals like men can possibly have rights
we pray on Sundays that we may have light
to guide our footsteps on the path we thread
we're sick of war we do not want to fight
the thought of it know fills our hearts with dread
and yet we gorge ourselves upon the dead
like carrion crows we live and feed on meet
regardless of the suffering and pain
we cause by doing so. If thus we treat
defenseless animals for sport or gain
how can we hope in this world to attain
the PEACE we say we are so anxious for
we pray for it o'er hecatombs of slain
to God, while outraging the moral law
this cruelty begets its offspring: war.
                      George Bernard Shaw

"Truly man is the king of all beasts, for his brutality exceeds theirs. I
have from an early age abjured eating flesh and the time will come when men
such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the
murder of man" Leonardo Da Vinci

"What wickedness to swallow flesh into our own flesh, to fatten our greedy
bodies by cramming in other bodies, to have one living creature fed by the
death of another. Animals share with us the privilege of having a soul.
Animal-anima-soul." Pythagoras

"As long as there are slaughter houses, there will be battle fields" Leo
Nikolayevich Tolstoy

"Animals and humans suffer and die alike....the same pain, the same spilling
of blood, the same stench of death, the same arrogant, cruel, and brutal
taking of life. We don't have to be a part of it." Dick Gregory, civil
rights leader.

"Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for the survival
of life on earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian lifestyle" Albert
Einstein

"I hold flesh eating to be unsuited for our species. The life of a lamb is
no less precious than that of a human being. The most violent weapon on
earth is the table fork" Mohandas Gandhi
