Caroline, I was born in Illinois when Adlain Stevenson was my Senator.  Consider this oft repeated snippet, this version from the NPR site. 


A supporter once called out, "Governor Stevenson, all thinking people are for you!" And Adlai Stevenson answered, "That's not enough. I need a majority."Maybe, we should buy cable time on Fox News.
