[Sosfbay-discuss] Jim Griffith for Sunnyvale, CA Council

Hi Caroline,

That's exactly why I only suggested you interview him and provided info on
his opponent.

He did want Green Party support, so I think you should at least interview him,
tell him your concerns and see how he reacts. As I'm not in Sunnyvale,
I'm not aware of the issues, hence why I handed it off to this list.

From the looks of the demographics and the endorsements already, I
think Jim is likely going to win the race. If you find him fitting to
endorse, then he'll also be easier to hold to what he's said to you in
the endorsement interview if he knows where his support base is.

In my experience, Greens are usually fickle when it comes to endorsements,
and he knows this already. One of his main activities as a public citizen
while not on the council was championing green causes like sustainability
at the local level. His website discusses such things. At least the League
of Compromising^WConservation Voters saw fit to endorse him already
(after an interview). I also know for a fact he's solid on gay rights issues
and civic transparency, among other things.

I endorse him myself generally, but it'll take your own evaluation to
come to a group endorsement, if you do that kind of thing.

What did you not like that the Council has done?

I already sent him a link to this discussion page, so he might even
just be able to reply directly.

Seth
