Alex,

Yes, I recently heard that Wal-Mart plans to file for an expansion. No
more details, nor do I know of anyone organizing to push back.

Dear Green Friends,

While attending my grandson's 11th birthday this weekend, I was told
that Wal-Mart is again trying to upgrade it's Milpitas store to a "Super
Center."

Have any of you heard about this?? I was going to write a
Letter-to-the-Editor of the Milpitas Post, but I can't find their
contact information.? I know Rob Means is a "good friend" of the
Milpitas Post :).? Rob, Andrea, could you help me out on this?

I was still living in Milpitas a few years ago when Wal-Mart tried to do
this and Milpitas folks pushed back.? Now, I suspect they think they can
exploit the current recession to trot out their old argument about
creating a few low-wage jobs.? It occurred to me this is a textbook case
of how people are mortals living ordinary lives, but big bad corporate
"persons" like Wal-Mart are immortal.
