Noam Chomsky recently told Iranian TV
that the US had invaded Afghanistan 
supposedly to get the
perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks, but provided no 
evidence that al
Qaeda was guilty because they didn't have any.  He also 
pointed out
the   "mission creep" as within weeks the goal shifted from
getting 
bin Laden to overthrowing Taliban.  All of this, Chomsky
says, was totally 
illegal and criminal.
