Bush writes that former Chancellor Schroeder said "Nations that sponsor 
terror must face consequences" and offered German support for the Iraq war.

Not so, says Schroeder, explaining that he made clear that only should it
prove that Iraq "provided protection and hospitality to al Qaeda fighters"
would Germany "reliably stand beside the US."
