Drew is offering Ubuntu Gnu/Linux support

Caroline: recovering from broken leg, doing 350.org event on 10/10/10

 3 items designed by Valerie, printed by Tian,
   theme: cutting carbon footprint; Caroline funds ½, GPSCC pays ½
 2 bundles of Green Focus: Tian will get

Coalition for a Downtown Hospital
 County working on medical clinic. 17th and Santa Clara, demolition
started on hospital.  County in driver's seat.

REPORT ON PLENARY in Fullerton, Orange Co. September 10-12: Jim Stauffer
+ Good plenary,  40-50 people.  not too many bus items,  req. for
committee membership, platform planks.

+ Saturday night's special speaker: Pat LaMarche (GP-US 2004 VP nominee)
Topic: Green activism--at the polls, in the workplace, in our homes. A
single mother, Pat can also spoke to critical importance of Green Party
message of Feminism and youth rights.  Event included:
Video presentation; "On the Edge", applauded, pre-release documentary on
homelessness.
Pat LaMarche, and selected Green Party candidates spoke.

+ Also another great presentation, re: “feed-in tariff” - producing and
feeding extra power back into the grid.
Facilities okay,  though dance studio overhead.
Presentation of candidates, election, not much press.

Need for strategy meeting.  GPCA has never had a comprehensive strategy
+ Possible format: Gathering event, but focused on strategy.
+ Central location?  Fresno?
+ Distributed event? Several satellite locations.  Trying to boost
participation.
+ CC needs to structure it.  Late Jan early Feb
+ Laura Well's strategy: ongoing campaign towards 2012, Merriam suggests
supporting her strategy
+ Tian: suggests shifting from political party strategy to working on
movement strategy

GP VISIBILITY:
Get GPCA recommendations for propositions into the press: Fred
fred: news release, SJ Merc got it already, but we'll target local papers
Jim S. will forward to discussion list, Caroline or Drew will send to
Sunnyvale, Fred to Mtn View
