Abstract and nebulous concepts are made precise through the use of language, but when the goal is to illicit different thoughts from each individual to prevent meaningful dialogue, terms like torture, inflation, green jobs, and debt ceiling become meaningless.

The broad concepts, we understand, but when we try to have discussions on these important issues, the powers that be tell us a green-apple is not an apple because apple also means red-apple. Forced sodomy is not torture because water boarding is not torture. The entire conversation is diverted and the dialogue is reduced to cable news.

The value of an object decreases when more of that object is in circulation. Inflation. When we create dollars out of thin air, paper, and ink, the overall currency pool increases, but the purchasing power of that pool remains the same. Each individual dollar can purchase fewer goods because there are now more dollars chasing the same amount of goods.

Then why does Ben Bernanke go in front of congress and claim inflation is at an all time low after we just 'quantitatively eased' [read: printed] $600,000,000,000?

"They" tied inflation to the consumer price index (CPI), which is a basket of goods that includes food, energy, and other basics. Core Inflation, as used by the Federal Reserve, excludes the prices of food and energy. If the CPI doesn't go up, we don't have inflation. We, the United States, keep the CPI low by taking food and energy out of the hands of those that can't read, do math, or fight back.

We can't go into new intellectual territory without understanding the vocabulary. As we, the people, try to understand global economics we need to understand the term inflation in the context of the term currency, not dollar. As we move forward in these times of global restructuring, we cannot allow the status-quo to dictate what is right and wrong.

We, the people, decide what is right and what is wrong.

We will be having a meeting Tomorrow, Monday, June 6th at 10:00 a.m. on California State University Northridge's campus, in the Santa Susana Room [3rd Floor, above the Freudian Sip in the USU area]. Street parking is available on Zelzah (East of the campus). Public transportation: MTA Lines 166, 167, 239, 240, 741.

The goal of this meeting is to lay groundwork between activists while developing strategies to take control of the dialogue surrounding important issues like healthcare [not health insurance], education [not diploma factories], peace [not war], etc.
