There's a right way to do it.  Post the link followed by
an excerpt that captures the gist.

Every newspaper site I frequent has a "print this page"
button on every article.  A few of those do some fancy
Javascript trick to go after your printer.  But the great
majority just present the same content formatted for less
wasteful printing.  That's where you can select your
excerpt to paste it into your email.
It's also a way around the trick of splitting an article
into several pages so you'll see more ads.  The
"printer-friendly" version is all on one page.

Most people are too lazy to do that, though.  They seem
to think their time is more valuable than the time dozens
of other activists would waste downloading large pictures
and advertisements.

When someone tells you "that's too geeky" and "I'm not
technical," as their lame excuse for wasting your time
with large images and advertisements, recognize that
they are really saying "my time is more valuable than yours."
It's an attitude the movement would do well to discourage.
