[GPSCC-chat] Request for Agenda Items for October 27 Meeting

   I'd like to add a request for consideration of endorsement by GPSCC of the 
California Disclose Act, an act that will come up in January in the CA legislature 
which provides that political ads must honestly and transparently disclose who 
their top funders are.

   No more "Paid for by California Consortium for Fairness and Lower Taxes" BS.
The actual corporate sponsors would have to reveal themselves on newspaper,
TV, and radio ads.

  I may not be able to make the 10/27 meeting myself. Gerry is fairly conversant
in the Disclose act.  Here's more information, so if I can't make it maybe somebody

Hi everyone,

I volunteered to prepare the agenda for our October meeting.

For transparency, please send agenda items and changes to this list: sosfbay-discuss at cagreens.org.  Include the name of the presenter and the amount of time needed.

At the end of the September meeting we had two potential guest speakers for October.  Has one of them been confirmed yet?  When that happens, please send an email to this list so I can update the
 agenda.


Here's what I have so far:

7:00 PM  Social time: practice one-minute speeches, eat, chat, etc.

7:30 PM  Begin meeting

*  Guest speaker: either (a) someone from Californians for Justice or (b) Masao Suzuki
      15 min (total, including Q & A)

*  Choose facilitator, note taker, timekeeper, vibes watcher, November agenda preparer, November one-minute speakers

*  Introductions and short announcements

*  Revise and affirm agenda
      4 min

*  Treasurer's report, pass the hat
      4 min, Jim Doyle

*  Movie Night
      6 min, Merriam
 Kathaleen

*  Make a decision on a speaker for November meeting
      4 min, group

*  Campaign finance reform (carried over from September agenda)
