FYI,

regarding upcoming protest actions, below are some websites
that might be helpful.

==================================

About "occupying" Wall Street:
https://occupywallst.org/

About "occupying" places other than Wall Street:
http://www.occupytogether.org/

A separate action in October (beginning Oct. 6),
inspired by Tahrir Square:
http://october2011.org/
(But I think its goals are similar to occupywallst.)

==================================

Some history, not guaranteed to be 100%, but as best
as I can recall.

There was the Tar Sands Action,
http://www.tarsandsaction.org/
where over 1200 people were arrested in front of the
White House over a 2 week period, from late August to
early September.

Occupy Wall Street began on Sept. 17th about one block
from Wall Street. At first there was little attention,
from mainstream and alternate media, then alternate media
started paying some attention, then the police got a
little violent, then the mainstream media gave it some
attention.

Some unions are talking about joining the Occupy Wall Street
action soon. Don't know if they will be joining just for the
marches, or for the camping out as well.

The Occupy xxx has expanded to at least Boston, Chicago,
and San Francisco, and according to occupytogether.org,
there may be dozens of efforts elsewhere.

According to http://www.occupytogether.org/events/west/occupy-san-jose/

there will be an action in San Jose, Oct. 2, this Sunday,
2 days from now.

And then October2011.org begins Oct. 6, with an occupation
of Freedom Plaza in DC, and some simultaneous actions
elsewhere.

Should be interesting.

Tar Sands Action is planning on returning Nov. 6th.

Gerry
