[GPSCC-chat] CA DISCLOSE Act Passes in Appropriatioons Committee

The bill, AB1148, requires that funders of political ads identify themselves in the ads.

The vote today was 12-5, split along party lines.

Having passed in two committees, the bill now goes to the Assembly floor, where it will 
need a 2/3 vote to pass.  That means every Democrat and 2 Republicans have to vote 
for it.

Polls show that 80% of voters support the concept of this legislation, but it's going to
take a demonstration of political muscle to get this passed.
