p.s. If the Santa Clara Greens fail to endorse this, you will have to
pay $35 for the use of the Peace Center. However, I'd be surprised if
there were any Greens anywhere opposed to Prop 37, and I'd be completely
astonished if Drew failed to endorse this or if this failed to win
approval at our next monthly meeting, Thursday, Oct. 25. Spencer

Hi, John:

       1. I just got Jim Doyle's endorsement for such an event. I've
left messages for Drew. The last I heard, Merriam was planning to leave
today for New Mexico, where she plans to live for the indefinite future.

       2. We have the Peace Center reserved for this for Friday, Nov.
2, and I recommend you modify your flier to say that. You can also say
that the Green Party has endorsed Prop 37, but do NOT say that the
Greens have endorsed this event unless you hear that Drew has agreed
that the County Council should endorse this. It's too late to worry
about getting another venue. If we have a thousand people appear for
this, we can try to play it in the parking lot ;-)

       Thanks,
       Spencer
