Greetings all,
Here is some inforomation that the discussion group did not receive.
There is an enthusiastic volunteer who first contacted Valerie.
Then I exchanged a few emails with her. The bottom line is she intends to
attend the Thursday night's meeting, also tonight. Furthermore she wants
to do tabling both Saturday and Sunday and more.
As such tabling plans whoud be a part of the agenda:
Farmers' Markets Saturday and Sunday October 27 & 28
Junior State Saturday November 17-th
Holiday Peace Fair Saturday December 1-st
As to the Holiday Peace Fair, I have sent in the application fee for a table.
Also, here is a reminder of our responsibilities for and at the Holiday Peace Fair:
We have signed up for a table at the Holiday Peace Fair,
Saturday 1-st. Tablers and set up people needed.
Perhaps the most unique aspect of the Fair is that it is virtually
impossible for an organization not to make money!
Participating groups get an allotment of Holiday Peace Fair tickets.
The usual number is 20 for each 1/2 table and 40 for each full table
space, but you may have more (or less).
Your organization keeps the proceeds from its own ticket
distribution/donations and may request more than the initial supply.
You may also distribute tickets for less than the stated $2.
Flyers advertising the Fair will be provided (printed and electronically)
to distribute to your group and in your communities.
IMPORTANT: Each group is required to donate at least one item for sale
at the dessert table (chocolate items and pies of any kind are very popular).
The Fair will be open to the public from 11 AM to 4 PM. We will have one-two
hours to clean up after the 4 PM closing. Please find one or more volunteer(s)
from your group to help with general set-up (8 AM Saturday) and with general
clean-up as well as people to set-up (from 9-11 AM Saturday) and clear your
own table(s).
A full table space will cost your organization $40. [paid 10-24-2012]

This still didn't get sent to the GP chat list, even though the main web site is up. I looked up as many e-mail addresses that had sent GP chat e-mails as I could before IE locked up. I've included them here. Take note of the additional e-mail addresses added to the cc list.

Change November & December meeting dates
November: change from 22 to 29. SG to request.
Leave December as is.
Presenter: John Thielking
Background:
Right now the San Jose Peace & Justice Center's calendar lists our
November meeting for Thursday 11/22 (Thanksgiving) and our
December meeting for Thursday 12/27 (two days after Christmas). Should we move those up a week (or to some other
date that's agreeable to most who will attend)? Last year we made
a decision in the summer to reserve the SJP&JC for the 3rd
Thursdays of November and December even
though we weren't sure we would have meetings both months (with
the idea that it's easier to cancel a time slot we're not going to
use than to scramble at the last minute for a different date or
venue). That seemed to work well. It turned out
that we used both time slots. FYI, right now the SJP&JC's calendar
lists nothing for Thursday 12/20. For Thursday 11/15 there's an
event at San Jose
City College and an event ("Close Encounters in the Middle East")
with a request for information and no location.
8:25 How to fix the cagreens.org e-mail chat function if it's not
already fixed by
Thursday? If it's back up by then, we probably don't need to
discuss this. The www.cagreens.org <http://www.cagreens.org/> web
site is currently up, but last time John tried to send an e-mail
to the GP chat list he got an error message sent back 2 days later.
Tian will call Cameron and take a next step.
8:35
Spencer proposes that the Green Party of Santa Clara County
officially file a legal request to unobtrusively attend and record
deposition(s) of Salma and David Merritt by attorneys representing
financial institutions.
For more information, see "Merritt v Countrywide" at
http://occupy.pbworks.com <http://occupy.pbworks.com/> (especially
"http://occupy.pbworks.com/w/page/57677826/Merritt%20v%20Countrywide",
"http://occupy.pbworks.com/w/page/59812692/Stoelker", and
"http://occupy.pbworks.com/w/file/59817477/Support%20of%20Motion%20for%20Protective%20Order-PEJohnson.pdf";
the latter is a sworn statement by Porter Eugene Johnson, who had
never met the Merritts prior to the earlier deposition and
describes the
behavior of Goldberg essentially as I did above).
8:50
Spencer's proposal that the Green Party start immediately
after this election to build a coalition with other minor parties to
develop a common slate of candidates to support in the 2014
elections,
focusing especially on minor offices like school boards, etc.: I'd like
to see the Greens and Peace and Freedom parties field at most only
one
candidate in any given race affected by the "Top Two" rule. We might
call it something like the "Green Peace Coalition". If we don't have
time this Thursday, I'd like to see us discuss it November 22.
No problem with the Peace & Freedom party but not the Libertarians.
9:40 Meeting ends.
