WHY:  To help people impacted by the on-going nationwide wave of 
foreclosures respond more effectively to this threat.

1-2 PM:  Panel discussion moderated by Henrietta J. Burroughs, award 
winning journalist and editor-in-chief of East Palo Alto Today 
(www.epatoday.org).  Panelists:  Thomas Spielbauer, CJ Holmes, David 
Merritt, Spencer Graves.


2-3 PM:  Small group discussions focused on questions for the panel and 
ideas for next steps


3-4 PM:  Report backs, discussion, and plan next steps.


PANELISTS:

** Thomas Spielbauer: An attorney in San José with 23 years experience 
as a public defender currently specializing in helping people facing 
foreclosure.  His web site (http://spielbauer.com) includes instructions 
on "How to Do Your Own Loan Modification".

** CJ Holmes: A realtor in Santa Rosa, the founder of Home Owners for 
Justice (hofj.org), and a regular on KPFA radio, 94.1 FM.

** David Merritt:  a small business business owner and a non-lawyer 
litigator against Bank of America, Countrywide and others over a 
fraudulent, predatory loan by which the banks allegedly tried to saddle 
him and perhaps millions of others with triple the obligation he had agreed.

** Spencer Graves: PhD statistician with broad experience improving 
products and processes, including for Silicon Valley corporations.  He 
has recently been focusing on foreclosures.
