[GPSCC-chat] FW: [ppjc] Film: HEIST: Who Stole the American Dream? - 9/27

This movie covers some of the same material as Charles Ferguson's "Inside Job" about
the 2008 financial meltdown. It has a broader perspective, covering the last 30 years,
and some of the recent developments since Inside Job was released. Very well done!

The venue is on North California Ave. To get there, take the pedestrian tunnel under the
RR tracks from South California Ave. or, driving, cross over the RR tracks at Churchill or
under them at University Ave.

Also, it's Thursday, not Tuesday as it says below. Here's confirmation:

"HEIST earnestly paints the picture of a democracy slowly and methodically

being nudged toward oligarchy with help from all sides."

 —Mindy Farabee, LA Times

"Perhaps the best film yet about the roots of today’s economic conditions

in the U.S., domination of public policy by corporate interests,

and grassroots resistance that has emerged in the past few years."

 —TheWorkSite.org

HEIST..."has the virtue of taking the long view of a crisis that recent films

like “Inside Job” and “Too Big to Fail” have only sketchily explored."

 —Stephen Holden, New York Times
