                         LOCAL POLITICIANS INVITED TO
URGENT TOWN HALL MEETING ON CITIZEN DEMANDS FOR
              IMMEDIATE FEDERAL MINIUMUM-WAGE INCREASE

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA — Representatives ANNA ESHOO, MIKE HONDA, and
ZOE LOFGREN have been urged to attend a Town Hall Meeting about the 30
million
workers—10 million men and 20 million women—who earn less than workers did
over 45 years ago. While productivity has doubled since 1960, the
minimum-wage
remains stagnant at $7.25 per hour. Only one bill in Congress comes
close to what is
deserved: HR 1346 authored by Rep. Alan Grayson asks for $10.50 per hour.

This demand for economic justice by 70% of citizenry is part of the TIME
FOR A
RAISE movement across America (www.timeforaraise.org).

“We must also stop the tragic loss of wages,” insists 9to5 Bay Area
Chairperson Daislyn
Pease, “by indexing the $10.50 minimum-wage to inflation. Never again should
American workers struggle just to feed and house their families.”
