Grass roots organizing around climate for over 20 years. Creates
custom data tools for business applications.

Also reading on public perceptions on climate + how to motivate
behavior changes e.g., in smoking and diabetes.

Fear and guilt do not work to motivate people do change. What
works is positive messaging: Creating a vision of an attractive
future. Creating plans also work.

Crowdfunding via Indiagogo. Playing video on the crowdfunding
page.

Prof. Mark Jacobson, Stanford says we need to do 3 things.

             1. change to carbon free electricity.

             2. Fuel switch.

             3. Be efficient.

3 steps do not address methane, which is the second largest piece
from CO2.

       Q: subsidies for fossil fuels?

Greens table, e.g., Junior State @ Santa Clara Mariott in November.

Radio & TV? San José Peace & Justice Center low power radio.
CreaTVsj.org -> your video.

Program in 2 different versions: One is a community version --
local meetings, impacts, ... . Plus a general site.

Blair: Fracking question: About 6 months ago, there was a feeling that
fracking had been ended or seriously reduced in CA. Now in the past
month or two, someone is trying again to get more fracking in CA.

Tian: Exxon or Chevron is pushing fracking. A group in San Benito
County is working on fracking.

Guy from Holister came for the film Gasland.

> 8:10-8:30 Discussion of Peoples' Climate March, the Oakland Rally, and ideas for future actions by us and in coalition ( Tian, Gerry, Caroline, Spencer--Tool Kit-- 20 minutes)

       Gerry attended a rally Sunday.

Caroline: Merc News: "Tens of thousands of people took to the
streets in New York and other cities around the world." "Corporate
leaders speak on climate."

Tian: ~500 in Oakland. "The effect of leave it in the ground."
Pedal power volunteers provided the electricity for the music. Art was
better than in the past but no watershed of increased public
participation. There was about as many people as the location could
comfortably handle.

8:30: Campaign for Healthy California (CHC)

Last month's meeting: Approved we join a Campaign for a Healthy
California. They need principal and secondary Liaison: Sandy is
Principal. Caroline is secondary.

CHAM is working on a downtown health care fair with Single Payer
Coalition, ... . November 7.

8:50: DeAnza Apple protest: Apple took over the DeAnza campus and had a
secret agreement. The staff who signed the agreement could not admit
who the contract was with. There was a 3 story construction for a 1 or
2-day (product launch?) event, and no one was allowed to discuss what it
was about. heartbeatearth.wordpress.com and popularresistance.org and
maybe later at greenshadowcabinet.us.
