[GPSCC-chat] Santa Clara County Citizens' Advisory Commission on Elections?

Hello, All:

Might we get a volunteer to attend meetings of the Santa Clara
County Citizens' Advisory Commission on Elections (CACE) and possibly
serve on this Commission? The last I heard, they had an "at large"
vacancy, which means that anyone in Santa Clara County could apply. I
was planning to apply, but then decided to move to Kansas City, so I
couldn't.

This is the ideal forum to push electoral reforms like enforcing
legally required campaign finance disclosures and instant runoff
voting. They meet the second Tuesday of each month (canceling only in
some cases where it conflicts with a major election). I've attended and
commented at several meetings. Dave Kadlecek of the Peace & Freedom
Party serves, and I believe it would be good if we got someone from the
Green party.

Their next meeting is this evening; see below.

       Best Wishes,
       Spencer

Steve, Mike and Spencer,

I will be there in any case, and I generally take notes anyways.
However, it would be good if Mike and/or Spencer came and made it
obvious that they were interested in the RfP process for new voting
equipment (probably by signing up to speak on the item). If I say
something in response to what the Registrar or Assistant Registrar say,
that's part of my responsibility as a commissioner and doesn't indicate
public interest in the way that one of you can.
