This message is a call for volunteers to be delegates at the upcoming Green Party of California General Assembly (Plenary) that will be held Saturday - Sunday June 27-28 in San Jose... AND a request for local hosts for out-of-town Green Party activists who will be attending that meeting (as well as the U S Social Forum that will occur June 25-27). The Green Party of Santa Clara County is allowed five voting delegates (and there can be up to five alternates). When you are a delegate, you represent our local County Green Party at the statewide meeting. A copy of the GPCA announcement will be posted separately, but you can get more information at _www.cagreens.org/ga_ (http://www.cagreens.org/ga) . Registration costs are $40 for both days if you register before June 1st. Also, you can get a reduced registration fee to the U S Social Forum of $20 if you register for that event when you register for the Plenary. We also are asking for offers to host out-of-town guests for these events (even if you are not planning to attend either the Plenary or the U S Social Forum). This is something Greens do to help reduce the expenses for activists who attend meetings around California as they are held in different locations over the years. If you want to volunteer to be a Plenary delegate or alternate -- or if you have space to offer -- contact Warner Bloomberg at (408) 295-9353 or at _wb4d23 at aol.com_ (mailto:wb4d23 at aol.com) . On behalf of your GPSCC County Council members... Warner -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... And, because we had no agenda, we forgot to have someone volunteer to do the agenda for the next meeting. We're probably not going to have an actual meeting until July because of the Social Forum/Plenary at the end of June.Anyway, we had, in addition to Warner, Caroline and Drew, Debbie, Jim. Joel, and Sandy. Treasurer's report--We have less than $1000. Jim paid the new phone bill. We have yet to get rid of the old phone. Our new number is? 408--236-2016. Our new address is: Green Party of Santa Clara County???????????????????????????????? 48 So. 7th St. Suite 101????????????????????????????????? San Jose, CA 95112 Facebook Page--Drew is not a fan of Facebook, but he has administrative rights. We need to make sure Tian keeps taking care of people who contact us. Two people recently joined. To contact us, go tofacebook.com/groups/gpsccOr if, for some weird reason, you want to go to our Facebook page, which we did not set up, you can go tofacebook.com/pages/Green-Party-of-Santa-Clara-County/451794884863786fref=ts Webpage--We need to have the County Council be able to add or subtract things. As of now, they ask Drew to put stuff on or take it off.? Regular stuff, like meeting dates, Drew does on his own. Social Forum/Plenary-- Social Forum is now June24-28, Wednesday through Sunday. This overlaps our entire plenary. The main site for the Social Forum will beWashington United Youth Center921 So. 1st St. San Jose(it is behind the Biblioteca)There will be satellite locations around town. There will be buses. The deadline for groups to join that want to have workshops has been extended to June 5. There will be both workshops and Peoples Movement Assemblies. In case you aren't sure what a PMA is, it lasts 3-4 hours, people gather and plan future actions.Registration for the Social Forum is $60. For the Plenary, it is $40. But, if you are going to attend both, it will only cost you $60. We would like to encourage anyone interested to be a delegate. If you would like to? host an out-of-town Green, please let us know. You may contact Warner at wb4d23 at aol.com? or 408-295-9353. ??????????????????????? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
