The deadline is April 8 to apply to be a delegate to the GPUS Presidential
Nominating Convention this summer. The convention will be held Saturday

The Green Party of California (GPCA) is alloted 63 delegates out of 400 at
the GPUS Convention.
Any GPCA member can apply to be delegates to the GPUS Presidential
Nominating Convention (PNC). You can become a delegate either being designated by
a presidential candidate to be one of their delegates, or be selected by

County Council with no favored candidate designation, and make sure your
County Council knows to submit it authorization for you to the Delegate Section

The candidate delegate slates and the county delegate slates will be
submitted to the GPCA's Delegate Selection Committee. That committee will work

Because the GPUS Presidential Nominating Convention occurs less than two
months after the California primary, the Delegate Selection Committee will
notify delegates promptly of their selection, and you will need to be
prepared to decide to accept the position. If you elect to attend the convention
as a delegation, you will need to register immediately at that time. You

Finally, as a PNC delegate you are responsible for your own expenses. The
GPCA does not have funds allocated for this purposes. County Green Parties
are encouraged to support delegates attending from their counties.
Sometimes candidates have been known to help with expenses of some delegates..

*Note: Our GPCA Rules and Procedures state that applications must be
submitted 60 days before the primary. Unfortunately this communication is going
out later than we'd like, with only slightly more than two weeks until the
April 8 deadline. Since the Delegate Selection Committee feels that it can
do its job in 30 days, it will be asking the Coordinating Committee for a
by-laws interpretation to be approved by the General Assembly to extend the
deadline to May 8. However please make every effort to get your application
in by April 8, as we don't know if an extension will be granted.
