Folks: I previously forwarded the GPCA announcement about applications to
be a delegate to the GPUS Presidential Nominating Convention in Houston,
Texas in August.
As indicated below, the deadline to apply has been extended to May 8th.
If you want to be an unallocated delegate, you need to submit your
application to the GPSCC County Council (via this list or to Jim, Sandy, Caroline
and Warner) a specific candidate, you need to contact that candidate and copy
the GPCA (see instructions below).

The Green Party of California (GPCA) is alloted 63 delegates out of 400 at
the GPUS Convention.
Any GPCA member can apply to be delegates to the GPUS Presidential
Nominating Convention (PNC). You can become a delegate either being designated by
a presidential candidate to be one of their delegates, or be selected by
our Green Party County Council. (See the complete _GPCA Delegate Selection

County Council with no favored candidate designation, and make sure your
County Council knows to submit it authorization for you to the Delegate Section

On your application, include your name, address, phone, and email. If you
are selected, you will also need to submit your year of birth.
The candidate delegate slates and the county delegate slates will be
submitted to the GPCA's Delegate Selection Committee. That committee will work
with the lists as proscribed in the _GPCA Delegate Selection Procedure_

) . After the June 7, California Presidential Primary, the committee will

Because the GPUS Presidential Nominating Convention occurs less than two
months after the California primary, the Delegate Selection Committee will
notify delegates promptly of their selection, and you will need to be
prepared to decide to accept the position. If you elect to attend the convention
as a delegation, you will need to register immediately at that time. You

Finally, as a PNC delegate you are responsible for your own expenses. The
GPCA does not have funds allocated for this purposes. County Green Parties
are encouraged to support delegates attending from their counties.
