From wrolley at charter.net Wed Sep 20 12:48:01 2017 From: wrolley at charter.net (Wes Rolley) Date: Wed, 20 Sep 2017 12:48:01 -0700 Subject: [GPSCC-chat] Help getting sane actio on cawster Message-ID: The Santa Clara Valley Water District has a key role in determining whether or not Gov. Brown's "Water Fix" will be built. A boy on their agreement to support and fund construction was scheduled for Sept. 26 meeting. However there are 2 meetings that day and the agenda for a 4 PM session has not been posted. The biggest news this week is that the Westlands Water District, the largest Ag user, has voted "no". That means urban users like our Water District and the Metropolitan Water District in SoCal could end up being on the hook for all costs. I won't be able to make Friday's meeting but hope that we can ask all Greens to call their board member to tell them to vote No or, to delay any action until it is clear just how much it will cost us. Board contacts are posted at valleywater.org. Make sure to call your board member and at a minimum get them to agree it is dumb to a Ct now when costs are so questionable.
