Mark Twain though I believe that Twain could spell better than the sign

One of my favorite Pete McCloskey stories involves his conversation
with John Erlichman of Watergate fame. When Pete asked "what happened"
I am told that Erlichman replied something to the effect that "it only
took three years to be completely corrupted." <br>
