Sustainable Silicon Valley has a bigger reach than we do. Their answer
to everything is to put a price on it. While I don't argue with
understanding the cost, I have concerns about price if that ends up to
mean privatization of water. <br>

There was a session on Monday with a long list of speakers, the most
entertaining of which was probably Will Durst. <br>
<br>

I spoke at <a
href="http://www.sustainablesiliconvalley.org/SSVWaterSummit2009.htm">this
mini-conference</a>
on Monday with two others, Dennis O'Connor (CA State Senate Committee
on Natural Resources and Water) and Kathleen Van Velsor (Environmental
Planner and ex-member of <a href="http://www.abag.org/">ABAG</a>). The
session ("How We View and Value Water") was moderated by Ed Quevedo
(Paladin Law Group), and Ed was free with his comments (you will hear
him too).<br>

<b>Bottom Line:</b> Price. Everyone was talking water prices, and
Silicon Valley will be sustainable when prices are<br>

The presentations are quick to skim through. Some of them do not need
the audio, but I'll probably go through them anyway. <br>

I would ask that everyone who pays attention to this also read the
water planning plank adopted at the Cotati plenary.
