<DIV><FONT size=4>According to a Saturday San Jose Mercury News article, 

incumbent (Republican) State Senator Blakeslee has decided not to run for 

re-election in SD15 unless the California Supreme Court reinstates the previous 

State Senate Districts statewide -- in which case apparently he would run for 

re-election in what was Abel Maldanado's "old District".  The declared 

Democratic Party candidate is Bill Monning (who, imo, is ok).  Both the old 

and new SD15 boundaries included portions of southern Santa Clara County (e.g., 

Morgan Hill area in both old and new lines).  A GP candidate would need to 

get going immediately to get a petition effort going to collect 

signatures-in-lieu of filing fee.  Under Prop 14, signatures would not need 

to be only from GP registered voters.  Warner</FONT></DIV>
