Hello, All: <br>
<br>
<br>
A "Housing Navigator" program is being developed that will
recruit volunteers to work one-on-one with people facing a
foreclosure sale. If you might be interested in volunteering or you
know anyone who might be interested or who is dealing with a pending
foreclosure, you or they may wish to attend the "Homeowner’s Rights
Fair" next Sunday, noon - 4 PM at Most Holy Trinity in southeast San
José (<a

<br>
<br>
<br>
If you might be interested but are not available Sunday,
please let me know so I can get you involved in the future. <br>
<br>
<br>
A Housing Navigator will help foreclosure victims organize
their records and decide whether seek free help with an organization
like Neighborhood Housing Services Silicon Valley (nhssv.org), which
would provide further advice and training in managing family
finances and preparing a request for a loan modification. A Housing
Navigator will also help the distressed homeowner file a Qualified
Written Request (QWR) for copies of the critical documents the bank
has on them (<a
href="http://hofj.org/default.asp.pg-ForeclosureDefense">http://hofj.org/default.asp.pg-ForeclosureDefense</a>)
and decide whether it would be wise to pay an attorney for legal
assistance, e.g., in examining the responses to a QWR for fraud,
e.g., robo-signing, and other things that can be used to push the
banks to offer a loan modification on more favorable terms. <br>
<br>
<br>
Best Wishes, <br>
Spencer <br>
