<div>John -- <br><br>In a potential breakthrough that could end the government shutdown, House Democrats are pushing a procedural move called a "discharge petition" that would cut John Boehner and Tea Party extremists out of the budget process and force a vote on a clean spending bill.
<br><br><b>And they only need 18 Republicans for it to work. Seem impossible? Well, 21 Republicans have gone on the record that they are willing to support a clean budget. Now is their chance to back up their words with action and end this shutdown for good.
<br><br><a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://act.democracyforamerica.com/go/3525?t=1&akid=3983.2448636.hXG8Wp">Please join DFA and Daily Kos in asking these 21 House Republicans to sign the discharge petition and end the shutdown.</a></b>
<br><br>Tea Party extremists shut down the government to force their right-wing agenda on the American people. John Boehner is unwilling to bring a clean funding bill up for a vote.
<br><br>Fortunately, if 218 representatives sign the discharge petition, it will cut John Boehner’s legs out from under him. With 200 Democrats on board, we only need 18 moderate Republicans to sign on and stand up against the extremism of their Tea Party colleagues.
