If you haven't already, I encourage you to sign a petition
(below) asking the federal government to prosecute ExxonMobile for
their disinformation campaigns to block action on global warming,
even though their own research allegedly confirmed the role of
fossil fuels in climate change as far back as 1978. CREDO Action
and DailyKos claim that this is a violation of RICO (Racketeer
Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act), which was used to
prosecute big tobacco for crudely similar disinformation. I would
think every Green in the nation would want to get behind this. <br>

Like tobacco companies, it’s now clear that Exxon knew
its misinformation campaign was fraudulent. <br>

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse has <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="http://kos.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=648kdsD2RuEmERZ6Wy%2BuPwhANrR8oZ7k">suggested</a>
fossil fuel companies may be in violation of the RICO
Act, and now 20 scientists have <a

href="http://kos.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=JNEb3G8j9RmkKTu7YQHVmwhANrR8oZ7k">signed</a>
a letter to the Obama administration and the Justice
Department. In light of the new revelations about
Exxon’s knowledge of the danger of fossil fuels, this
is a crucial moment to build that call.<br>
