She's got a huge amount of energy and enthusiasm and has been doing these outreach events roughly monthly for awhile now. Please consider participating in these events. Unfortunately I can't make this one due to prior commitments, but I have it on the good word of my mom that this documentary "Sick Around the World" is particularly excellent... Drew From: "Aiesha Parker-Hicks" I was able to stop by the Yard Sale last last Saturday and meet Carol and a couple of other cool people. I just wanted to let you know I will be hosting another doc event at the library next Wednesday, invite is below: I've been watching this healthcare reform debate play out in the news, and thought this doc would be perfect for this months discussion! See you at the library next Wednesday, August 12th. The documentary will start around 5:45/6pm (There's an event preceding us in the community room) PBS Frontline: Sick Around the World (2008) With the U.S. health care system needing urgent care, "Frontline" looks to other leading capitalist democracies to see how their health care systems operate and whether those systems might be a model for much-needed reform at home. But are Americans willing to accept taxation or socialized medicine? Will U.S. insurance providers undermine change? Correspondent T.R. Reid examines systems in the U.K., Japan, Switzerland, Germany and Taiwan. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Next month's event will take place on Saturday, September 5th @ 1pm. More than likely, it will be the The Garden, the film that wasn't yet released for July's Documentary showing! Peace, Aiesha -- Please consider the environment before printing this e-mail. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
