Again, my apologies for missing the call last night.

If we host a regional meeting in San Francisco, I will propose that we
have an afternoon meeting (3 to 4 hours) on a Saturday in January. I
think turnout for a two day meeting would be sparse - especially from
people who do not regularly attend Green Party meetings. The logistics
for setting up an afternoon meeting will also be much easier than for a
2 day event. (I don't know if I could find anyone in SF to plan a 2 day
meeting.)

I will propose to SF Greens that the agenda be kept very simple and
positive. (Should GPCA fold? Absolutely not.) The theme for the
afternoon could be the same as the title of the page 2 article in the
San Francisco Green Party Voter Guide - "It's a great time to join the
Green Party". http://www.sfgreenparty.org/
<http://www.sfgreenparty.org/ >; In the invitation that would be mailed
out to many of the 8,400 plus Greens in San Francisco, I would briefly
outline why it is a great time to be a Green. Doubling our membership
should be a goal that we can achieve. How do we get there? We need input
from our membership. We need our membership to take an active role in
growing the party.

Meetings around the state could also promote attendance by having a well
known speaker, or be organized around an event. If other regions have
the resources to plan a 2 day meeting, please do so.

It is my hope that in addition to developing an action agenda to be
brought to the next Plenary, SF Greens can begin to work on increasing
membership immediately.

Some potential questions to discuss (since I will be in Taiwan for a
     week):

Please discuss and notate the pros and cons of the following questions:

     1. Should GPCA focus solely on local non-partisan election races?

     2. Should GPCA enter both local non-partisan election races and the
state Primaries? What emphasis should the races for state Primaries
     have?

     3. Should GPCA continue to be part of the lawsuit against Prop 14?

     4. Should GPCA fold?

     5. Should GPCA continue to be a member of GPUS?

     6. Should GPCA have closer ties with the Progressive Caucus of the
     California Democratic Party?

I am sure you can all add more.....Shane Que Hee, Oct 25 2010
