The proposal agenda packet for the May 16-17 General Assembly in Venice,
Los Angeles is now available for downloading from the plenary web site:

             http://www.cagreens.org/plenary/

You will need the common password for access to the agenda packet.
Please contact your County Council or Regional Representative if you
don't have it.

This agenda packet contains proposals, meeting schedule, and county
delegate allocation. Please read it ASAP. If you have concerns about any
proposal, please send them to the people listed as the contact persons
and/or sponsors *before* the meeting begins.

The General Assemblies in the "off years" of the election cycle tend to
focus on internal party issues. This GA will decide the annual budget
and deal with proposals for restructuring certain aspects of our
organizational structure, among other issues.

is April 16.

The logistics packet contains information on the meeting site, housing,

Assembly delegates online. Use the Delegates link on the plenary page
cited above.

                   -------------------------

** Site Volunteers **

The host committee is in need of volunteers, especially in food service
(breakfast and lunch). The hosts are offering free admission to the GA
in exchange for helping with the various food tasks. Contact Will

** Note Taker **

We are looking for people with note-taking skills for the upcoming
plenary. This is a paid position and a valuable service to the GPCA.

The skills of a good note taker include being a good listener and a
competent typist. Familiarity with the Green meeting process is also
helpful. Having previous note-taking experience in your Local or in a
GPCA committee is advantageous.

There is a Note Taker Guidelines document available at
http://cagreens.org/gap/NoteTaker.rtf.

The note taker job can be shared among several people. You can serve for
a morning or afternoon session, a whole day, or the entire weekend.

The note taker position is budgeted for $250. This breaks down to $100 a
day for the raw notes and $50 for the final editing of the raw notes.

If you are interested, please send your name and phone number to
agenda-team at cagreens.org.

                      HOST COMMITTEE ANNOUNCEMENT

[The following announcement has been circulated around the LA area to
recruit volunteers and attendees. The General Assembly (plenary) will be
held in the Venice United Methodist Church.]

COOL, COOL VENUE FOR PLENARY IN LA AREA....

Proving that Venice is the coolest place to be, its United Methodist
Church folks re-named their social hall "The Center for Peace, Justice,
and The Arts." For the young and young at heart there's a skate ramp
available for use until 11pm. They feed folks and teach folks and have
multiple opportunities for community building. The site of one of LA's
biggest al-anon meetings every Saturday night, so it's not
available....so we're looking to create some great options for the
plenary's Saturday night event(s).

All are invited to come sign up and network toward making this a great
plenary. There's a HOSTEL RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET with really great
sleep-over rates. It's the stop-off place for the famous "hippy bus"
that goes up and down the state ("The Green Tortoise")
