GREEN SENATORIAL CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE ELECTION HIGHLIGHTS

Congratulations to the Green Party U.S. Senate candidates, who received
over a half million votes in 2010! Senate races are the most challenging
because of the huge influx of corporate and special interest funding to
Democrats and Republicans. However, they offer unprecedented visibility
for the Green Party and lay the groundwork for future success in
congressional, state, and local races.

Tom Clements got almost 10% in the South Carolina U.S. Senate race with
120,508 votes, the highest total of all the U.S. Senate candidates.
LeAlan Jones got the second highest vote total, 116,685, in Illinois.
Next were Duane Roberts of California and Colia Clark and Cecile
Lawrence of New York, with 98,572, 39,536 and 33,768, respectively.
Jesse Johnson was endorsed by leading Democrats Mike Gravel and Ken
Hechler in his West Virginia race. Green Party candidates were also
endorsed by newspapers, labor unions, and environmental groups. LeAlan
Jones of Illinois and John Gray of Arkansas were declared the winner by
reporters in their state’s debates – with Jones declared the winner of a
debate he was barred from attending. In a historic first, Jerry Joslyn
confronted John McCain on his war spending in the Arizona U.S. Senate debate

The Green Senatorial Campaign Committee made contributions to the
following campaigns:

Colia Clark – New York

Tom Clements – South Carolina

John Gray – Arkansas

Kenniss Henry, running for Natasha Pettigrew – Maryland

Jesse Johnson – West Virginia

LeAlan Jones – Illinois

Jerry Joslyn – Arizona

Bob Kinsey – Colorado

Cecile Lawrence – New York

Duane Roberts – California

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN 2010 AND STAY TUNED FOR UPCOMING
CONGRESSIONAL RACES!
