Dear Diane,

Your comment on my post about Elaine Brown was in the "moderated comments" queue for awhile.?

It has been posted on Green Commons today.?

I appreciate your comment.? This is the kind of debate I wanted to stimulate with my forthcoming op-ed in Green Focus:
A Debate: Do Greens Need a 'People of Color' Caucus?
It's good some comrades have never lose their sense of outrage even after years of struggle that cause some progressives to "burn out."?

If I ever do run for a high profile office as a Green, I hope to have supporters as passionate as you.?

Peace,

Alex Walker

Uncle Tom's Cabin

Elaine Brown left because it is
the Green Party leadership and those who support their unethical, hypocritical
behavior that are not committed to the 10 Key Values. As for not being able
take the heat. Get real. She has taken more hit than everybody listed combined.
She has stood in the path of bullets and watched her friends get murdered. It's
this party that can't take the heat. It's a political director who wants
security in the office because he's afraid that a black man might come in. All
those who sit here and condone what Brent did are just as guilty as Brent, be
they black or white. There is a story told about the house slaves who when
"massa got sick, walked around saying, "we's" sick. When the
house was burning they would be more interested in saving "massa" and
"missy ann" than saving themselves. Elaine Brown is not one of those
"house nigga's" and the people that she would be bringing into the
Green Party would not be house nigga's either. So all those who say they don't
see why the Green Party is viewed as just another arm of the racist system that
has been oppressing us all are either blind or a part of perpetuating the
institutional racism for their own personal gains, be they black or white. As a
matter of fact, Elaine has done more for the "grassroots" by exposing
the hypocrisy of this party by leaving it than by co-signing the lies being
perpetuated. And there plenty of us left here who will continue to take the
heat because she doesn't have to. We are the grassroots, she is our leader and
that will not change whether she is a member of this party or not. The people
who follow her leadership and have heard her message will continue to carry it
forward whether she is a member of this party or not. It's still our party too,
and we will continue to apply the heat. For those who can't take the heat, they
can get out.

We stay, because we will continue
the struggle. The sad part is that the "Willie Lynch" game continues,
regardless (And nobody is interested in hearing the bullshit about Willie Lynch
being a myth, myth or no myth the concept plays itself out everyday, right here
in this party, so spare us the patronizing attempt to gain favor, no dog will
bite the hand that feeds em. This is the most important election in the history
of this country. The Green Party sets the stage for the blacks to fight for the
crumbs off the table, while they walk away with the whole cake and eat too.
This party will turn on Cynthia McKinney the same way they turned on Ralph
Nader, Peter Camejo, Donna Warren and Elaine Brown and Jonathan Farley or any
other person of color who asserts themselves in the call for social justice.

And
when was the last time this party even had a conversation about the 10 key
values for real? They are refer to as a side note, when half the people who
refer to them don't even know what they are, let alone how to put them in
practice. Or they will pick one to be concerned about one and ignore the
others. Bring up a conversation about reparations and see how many Greens will
cry bloody murder, and there are some blacks that will scream louder than the
white folks. They don't want to give up their comfortable positions in the
"big house" or they don't want to stop getting money from these
people for their 501c3's. To the oppressed, poor, black, brown disenfranchised
of the world these people are called "sell outs". And there are
plenty of sell-outs among the few people of color who are members of the the
Green Party. You know who they are because they run around saying, "massa
they's trying to start a revolution", want I's to get em fo ya.
