DRAFT - Minutes of Wednesday September 3, 2008 - DRAFT
Attending: Gerry Gras, Dana St. George, Warner, Jim D., Drew, Cameron,
Peter Myers, Caroline, Tian
Facilitator Dana Notetaker Jim D. Timekeeper Peter Vibeswatcher Cameron
Drew will be away 9/9 to 9/20, Caroline 9/4 to 9/22, Jim D 10/4 to 10/25
Tian will table once or twice a week until election day
Tian has ordered 1,000 Cynthia McKinney bumper stickers, already has
orders for 80 or them
Warner is the statewide contact for the McKinney campaign
Cynthia will be on C-span Sunday 9/7 at 3:30 pm or 6:30 pm eastern time,
but check local schedules
Tabling – events and participants
Saturday September 6-th Electric Vehicles in Palo Alto Drew, Andrea at
10 am, Tian, Dana after 1 pm
Saturday September 13-th Young leaders at Mexican American Heritage
Plaza, an all day affair
From 9 am until 8 pm with four workshops and a film
Peter for sure, Warner, Tian, and Andrea if their schedules work out
Saturday September 20-th Santa Teresa Community Festival 11 am to 5 pm
Tian for sure
Thursday September 25-th Asian american electoral forum starts at 6:30 pm
Drew, Caroline, Peter, Tian
Wednesday October 1-st Foothill college Political Awareness Day spans
across the noon hour
Drew, Tian, Andrea, Jim D to check with Brian Good and Carol Brouillet
Tentative Tuesday October 14-th Technology speaker at “TASC” , at a luncheon

Treasurer’s Report Checking Account approximately $1700, Jim D still not
no signature card
Claim: there is a need for a reserve
We are out of McKinney flyers, Warner to prepare more(?)
Credit Caroline with the suggestion that the tablers have one another’s
phone numbers and emails
A sign up sheet can be printed from the GPSCC web site – click on
resources, then on get involved
Andrea to follow up on a joint mailing with “GROW”
Drew suggested a Pay Pal account and a notice on the web site re
donating to the GPSCC
Tapestry tabling results: $166, 6 individuals registered Green, a few
others took registration forms
Needed: instructions for closing at the end of an event.
Cost of P.O. Box is $42 per year per Cameron’s lookup, Tian to follow up
and be reimbursed
Peter Myers Campaign
Has 100 yard signs, 500 buttons, will be on KTVU in Oakland for 5
minutes on Tuesday 9/19,
He is holding a phoneathon Thursday evening, Drew will assist,
There are 1500 registered Greens in California congressional district 15
Discussion of Proposition 1 re high speed rail followed by a straw poll
4 Yeses, 1 abstain, 5 take no position
the report to the state will have 2 teses and 2 take no position votes
McKinney lawn signs: authorized 50 at $2 for a $100 expense, some to be
included as tabling supplies
That is just the signs, the wire supports, when needed, must still be
supplied. Check with Fred.
A proposal was made to endorse the Yes on A campaign for a county bond
measure to upgrade the
Valley Medical Center and includes a sum included for a hospital in
downtown San Jose
$890 million for Valley Medical, $50 million for construction of a San
Jose Hospital
Endorsed by consensus.
