I don't want the book, but I do want to report that the first tomato
to turn red on my vine is almost ready to pick. After its gone down my
throat I'll be inviting the neighbors to drop by and pick one sometime.
The pot gardening on the porch I do is easy, and just about anybody can
do it!

The grassroots energizing that comes from picking and eating something
yourself is the real thing! Today I had a couple of delicious plums from
the rust colored trees at tenth and San Carlos in San Jose. Delicious!

According to The World on NPR the Australian town of Bandanoon in NSW
just became the first political power structure to ban bottled water.
The guy from Do Something said that all of the towns businesses have
committed to just selling bottles and letting people fill them outside.
