Mervin Evans is actually a well-known character in L.A. Politics.? Also note that Saundra Davis is a well-regarded, very progressive, elected African-American on the Culver City School Board.? Sandra Davis ought to be a Green but... well... you know how that goes.? 

Robert Cole was Barack Obama's campaign coordinator and successfully raised significant money.? Cole was the closest thing to an authentic "Barack Obama Democrat" in this race and he didn't do so well, either.? It's gonna take a real "insurgency" to break the political machine in this town.
