Hi Alex,
I really like the issues you have set for your district on your page. My suggestions for the Taxes section when you expand it is to address the outrageous budget cuts to the UC system including UCLA, which is in your district. UCLA ranks #3 in a recently-released rankings by Washington Monthly, which assesses American universities and colleges based on their commitment to social mobility, research, and service. Unfortunately, social mobility starting with the incoming freshman class is at serious risk. The 2009-2010 school year is the first time in UC history that student "fees" (read as "tuition") have increased while major budget cuts are being implemented AND while the UC President Mark Yudof enjoys his $327,000 salary. We should be increasing Cal Grants, not eliminating the program.
A recent interview with former Congressman Tom Campbell (who lives in my district) had him on record saying that he was against modifying Prop 13 because that is the main incentive he has when convincing businesses to move to California. This is wrong on multiple levels, so maybe you want to address why repealing Prop 13 for commercial property (excluding small businesses) makes fiscal sense given the fiscal nightmare California is in.
For the health care section, obviously SB 810 (Leno) is a given, because an overwhelming majority of Californians want a single-payer insurance system (which may be possible should the Kucinich Amendment to HR 3200 pass).
Maybe these suggestions ought to be part of the larger GPCA emphasis for 2010, but if any of this applies to your district, that would be good to highlight in the final web version.
